Hi all,

I wonder how to handle the Guillaume-Affair in the VASSAL module correctly.

Basically there are 2 options for the Guillaume icon:

a) Look at West's hand cards; or
b) Look at the 2 top cards of the draw deck.

For a) I found a solution in the older Vassal-thread, that is: West moves his hand cards to the map, showing it. That works.

But for b? I realized that when you draw a card from the draw deck it is not the top card, but a randomly chosen one from the deck. You can verify it by simply drawing a card, putting it back, and drawing it again. In 90% of the cases it is another card.

So how can case b be handled?

thanks for any input!

richard

Place the cards that were looked at back into the decade deck window, but not back on that deck. Use the spaces below without stacking any cards.

sounds good!

But how can one prove that East only looks at 2 cards, and swaps only 1 ?

Indeed, aren't there all kinds of ways a player could view hidden info in a vassal file (or do other ways of cheating, e.g. resolving a random event and then restoring the saved game to try again if one doesn't like the random result), if a player were so inclined?
