Looking for recommendations for my daughters 13th birthday party. She would like to get a new game that her and her friends could play. Also looking for recommendations for a game for my nieces for Christmas. They are 4, 6, and 8. I got them Animal Upon Animal last year and they seemed to like that.

She likes pretty much everything we have in our collection. I think her favorites are Splendor and Smash Up but she likes just about everything we have played.

You could probably get the little ones Cheeky Monkey. It's a fun little game. They sell it in an actual stuffed monkey. The original was a boxed game. It's about 20 bucks (plus shipping) on Amazon.

4 year old is tough - depends on their attention span and interest in games. Quoridor Kid maybe?

For ages 6+ years old:
Archaeology: The Card Game
Cardline: Animals
Forbidden Island
Martian Dice
Sushi Go!

For your 13 year old:
Above games or
Machi Koro: Deluxe Edition
Ca$h 'n Guns (Second Edition)
Wits & Wagers
Colt Express
Catan
Stone Age
Carcassonne: South Seas

For your nieces:
sleeping queens--no writing on the cards and easy rules. So it would be great for the 4 year old, she would only need a little help with counting points.
Pina Pirata---The 4 yr old might have a little difficulty with this one but the older girls might like it. Actually this might work well for a birthday party too (if her friends arnt gamers).

Wits and Wagers seems interesting. What would be the best version for a birthday party with 13 year old girls?

Regular version should be fine, unless anyone has a problem with gambling. Otherwise Wits & Wagers Family. You just get vps for correct answers.

There is also Wits & Wagers Party - don't know much about it.

Oh, and what about Dixit?

For a kid's birthday party, you might think twice about bringing out games with gambling and shooting one another. I know, I am being over-sensitive, probably, but we take a lot of these things for granted and non-gamer parents might not. You have good suggestions for games without those themes...

Same goes for a Christmas present.

That is a good point so I may look more at Wits and Wagers Family or Dixit.
