How does wind strength change work? Does it makes Sailing vessels go faster/slower?

6.22 says ships under sail can add 1 to its cruise speed provided wind direction is right.

When it comes to how the wind changes and what higher wind values mean, the rules are not completely clear.

I'd say any wind strength above 0 counts as "wind". The actual strength number means nothing (apart from higher wind strengths often taking longer to subside).

Note that the dice roll only applies to strength change, unless you roll"7" - in which case another roll determines directional change.

Also note that very few scenarios use the wind rules and many that do have a simplified approach.
