I stumbled across this photo in an article about board gaming from The Guardian:

20 Awesome Board Games You May Never Have Heard Of
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/aug/28/20-aweso...

All those drinks on the table just about gave me a heart attack. Haha

And for all the cynics out there, I'll go ahead and make the joke for you:
"The only disaster I see is a bunch of people playing Dead of Winter."

I only have problems with drinks on the table with several persons. With the majority I don't mind.

To be honest, I never even noticed the drinks. I did notice the air mattress propped up against the wall and thought "well, I suppose if that fell over it might cause a bit of chaos, but I can't imagine that happening".

Three guys with two drinks each, one guy with only one drink, and one guy with no drinks at all. Which one is married to Betty and grows tulips in fish tanks?

(looks like those crazy logic problems to me)

'spilling' takes A-L-L the fun out of anything, unless it were intended: Spill and Spell NO 'drinks' being 'excepted'. whistle

If you zoom in, everything is sleeved or laminated. Everything but the guy in the green, whom is partially sleeved.

It's a 'trick question' as NONE were evident to confirm they're even interested upon 'females'! Their 'tulips' were especially 'grandiose'! cool

This is the Meeple Police: Neither the drinks, nor that game shall be at my table. devil

P.S. Realistically though, I could possibly change my mind on the game. Someone I know told me it was pretty fun.

I'd rather have fun with friends and drinks and a destroyed game (never happened once in 15 years...) than a "don't drink or eat while gaming"-guy at my table. That's half of the fun we have...

Over 8 years gaming, no game ever ruined by food or drink at the table.

I realize it can (and probably will) happen at some point, but seriously. My Pomeranian has claimed more game bits in less than 1 year than food or drink has in nearly a decade.

I'm actually not one of those "No drinks near my gaaaammmes!" people, but I also have a bigger table that allows for more maneuverability, and my friends usually drink one thing at a time.

The drinks immediately struck me!

I guess I might be seen as a bit of a killjoy, but I have had drinks spilled on two of my new games within the last three months*, so now I operate a strict "no drinks on the same table as any of my games" policy.
Some of my games are relatively hard to get, and all games are expensive. I'm a student, so I cannot afford to just buy a new game when this happens. And I don't like to continiue playing with ganes that are sticky and wrinkled from beer baths. It especially bothers me if the game was new before, which most of my games are.

*(Luckily one of the games survived pretty well, and for the other one, the person who did it actually bought me a new game, which I thought was super nice and which I would not have expected or asked for!)

Edit: To avoid annoying the others or killing any of the fun, having a second table/ flat surface next to the gaming table to put drinks on is really good!

A simple folding table (like a old-fashioned metal TV tray) is an excellent solution.

They are not playing on just a normal table, but a gate to elsewhere - controlled by Yuggoth! If the players do not defeat the secret gathering and forever seal the gate - the world as we know it will end!

Hopefully Trish Scarborough is with you guys or we are all doomed.

Oh, the drinks, yes. The drinks are scary too.

Holy crap! Games I own or want to own are nearly never mentioned in such articles, and this one mentions two, Survive AND Warhammer Quest. This can only mean the world is about to end... cry

Indeed in 12 years one incident occurred, and it was mine. Had to correct the diff suddenly, beered the queen in citadels. Sleeved the roles, problem solved.

Eating and drinking continues, as it always has.
