People complain the game is too easy for the heroes... how to fix that? The penalty box idea. It's not like it gives a huge disadvantage to the heroes, but if they are thick in the middle of combat, and one of then gets "killed/knocked out (I prefer knocked out)" - it makes little to no sense that the very next turn they're back in the dungeon, especially if the big battle is happening in a room with a teleportation rune to the town.

So I think the idea of a 1 round sit-out seems fair. The heroes lose one character, and the next turn they must fight with who's left. Now, unless they suck, they should do fine even with 3 members, and the following turn the formally dead/unconcious hero can come blazing back in through the gate and begin fighting again.
