Apparently an old favourite with some of the veteran gamers, but a new title to the rest of us. Designed for 6p , we played with 7 with Pat as Mr. Nazi, and Richard using perfectly-sized dwarf pieces from the War of the Ring. Which makes for a subtle and obscure two degrees of separation, since Colditz has a similar player-cooperative element to the Lord of the Rings, as all players but one must co-operate to succeed against a separate player bad guy.

By the end, Pat’s Nazi prison guards were devastatingly effective against the rest of us disorganised rabble, comprising me, Richard, Ed, Craig, Mikey, and Brian.
Mike’s tunnel digging was starting to look promising towards the end, but two of his guys and one each of mine and Craig’s were all caught and sent to the cells. The significant moment of brightness came right at the end, when Ed played his Do-or-Die card and got one of his men to the safety of Allied sympathisers.
20 minutes rules, 72 minutes playing.
