Hi All,
i would like to buy a "Dauerkarte" (4 Days Ticket Adult). And i would like to drive by train. So i need a VRR Ticket.
From my zone (from MG) i should pay 10€ per day. So 40€ for one Person.
Is it possible to buy also ONE - "Day Ticket Adult incl. VRR**" for 15,50€ and do not unvalid it at the entrance?
What do you think? Is it possible? Has someone done this last year? (We are 4 People, so i am calculating what might be the best option)
(BTW: Does someone tried to organize to buy 10 Tickets, to save more money?) For the question: why save money? Well, money=new games

Are you asking how to scam the train system? Are you for real?

That doesn't work you have to put the date on the ticket for it to be valid for the VRR.

I did the math, and the cheapest solution for a single person (4 days) is to get 4 combi-tickets (=62€). Especially from MG, as it's category D. As long as you are not living in Essen or are a student, that's the best deal with public transportation. One or two years ago I wrote to Merz Verlag about a combi-ticket for all four days, but they still seem to not get a deal with the VRR etc.
By car it would be about 150 km per day plus parking (I read something about 7€ per day). Depending on the thirst of your car, You wouldn't really save money with four persons, and little with five. You might save some time by car, but not for sure.
Sorry, but you'll have to face it, 4 combis per person are the best you can get.
