Hi all,

Many years ago when I first came to BGG I met a few people on here. Since then, many of my friends have left the province and I've lost touch with others, so my old gaming group has a few holes in it.

So I'm looking for games! We can create a semi-official meetup group, or just give me your contact info and I'll toss you invites. My friends and I play tend to game once or twice a month.

We're big fans of... Well, almost all board games, from Hanabi to Terra Mystica. My collection has a pretty good idea of what I own, and I'm willing to host (I like about 1 minutes away from McGill).

Respond here or message me!

Thanks,
Paul

I am interested - depending on schedule. My collection here is pretty much up to date if you want to see. I'm open at trying new games too.

(also RPG but that's another story)

Just FYI, I just myself discovered http://www.meetup.com/Montreal-Tabletop-Game-Network/ and attended their 2-3 of their most recent meetups. It's a blast, there's good people playing fun games.

Also, it's possible that you have a neighbourhood gaming group:

Villeray:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/100188146989387/

Ahuntsic:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/852891761390158/

are two that I know about, for example. The Ahuntsic group seems to be mainly francophone if that's an issue, but the Villeray group is pretty bilingual.

hello Paul & others,

We have a group that meets at Concordia University twice a month, the first and third Saturdays and we play a wide variety of games, yes from Hanabi to Terra Mystica even to 18XX. Our group page is here:

https://ca.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Montreal_Boardgames_M...

and the list of games we have played over the last few years can be seen here (you may need to join first):

https://ca.groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Montreal_Boardgames_M...

Also small subsets of this group play at other times, personally I also play every Monday at Concordia.

Feel free to pass by one Saturday, we start at 1pm.

Just wondering what the biggest tables are at the Concordia Hall buidling. I went a couple of times during weeknights to meet people and I found the tables were A) quite dirty and B) 2'x2' large. Neither of which seem conducive to more than sleeved card games.

I have thought to come by on Saturdays, but as I have events that I run at either Gamers Vault or Crossover Comics in Saint-Henri it's tough to make it work schedule wise. On weeknights I'd be interested in meeting once in a while.

Although I don't attend Concordia Saturdays as often as I'd like, I can say that I've seen people playing 18xx games, Twilight Imperium III, Eclipse, and a number of other games with large table requirements. Personally, I've brought along wargames with 24"x36" maps and have found the tables accommodating.

Since they are cafeteria tables, it's true that they generally require a wipedown before playing on them. Some members bring along Lysol wipes for just that purpose.

That is no longer a problem since the University closed the cafeteria serving counter at the beginning of summer. We now play in the area just off the elevators where we have access to about 30 large, clean tables.

If you're up to play anything, you can just show up at around 1 p.m. However, if you're looking for something specific, it is best to announce it on the Yahoo group the week before a meetup.

I look forward to seeing new faces at the next few meetups!

(F.Y.I. the next two will be Saturday, October 3rd and October 17th).
