We few,we happy few,we band of brothers;For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother: be he ne’er so vile;And gentlemen in England now-abed Shall think themself accurs’d they were no here That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

My take from the Poem of Alfred Tennyson, "The Charge of the Light Brigade" ,on the reference to the 644 brave men, "The New Six Hundred" as they were also called...

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
Together with the Campbeltown,
Sailed the six hundred.
"Forward, the Naval Brigade!
"Full Steam for the Caissons!" Beattie said:
Into the Harbour of Death
Sailed the six hundred.

"Forward, the Naval Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier Sailor knew
The Admiralty had planned:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the Harbour of Death
Sailed the six hundred.

Harbour Guns to right of them,
Harbour Guns to left of them,
Harbour Guns in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they sailed and well,
Into the Harbour of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Sailed the six hundred.

Flash'd all their tommy guns bare,
Flash'd as they grenade thru' the air,
Ramming the Caisson there,
Charging the Dockside, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battles-smoke
Right thro' the town they broke;
German and Nazi
Reel'd from the commando's stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they sailed back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Harbour Guns to right of them,
Harbour Guns to left of them,
Harbour Guns behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While small boat and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the Harbour of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
Ramming of the Caisson they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made,
Honour the Naval Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
