in one of the pictures,it shows a map for the game lnl...one half of the map has white outlined hexes, the other half with just black outlined hexes...is the game with or without the white outlining...or does it come with both..which is preferred? thanks!

All the maps have the horrid outlines unfortunately. The person who photoshopped that was making a point about how much better it looks without the outlines (made the point very well). Unfortunately the designer is not very receptive to, and fairly condescending at times to people who dont share his 'vision'. Great game otherwise!

yeah, thats a shame..the white outlines totally make the wonderful art hard to see...and hard on the eyes!

Mark is not only condescending, he is also persuadable...

Subtitel was "... the new, LnL: Forgotten Heroes terrain ... " -- all I know/have, but looks sweet!

That map was THE reason I never bothered buying the game. The game really looked cool (I saw the proto type before it came out) and mentioned the same thing. The hex lines are hard on the eyes, and the center dots need to be smaller. Ran into the same "Oh, you obviously have it wrong, this REALLY is better, beacuse......." thing from those showing it off. I said, "Have a nice life" and walked away. Now, it looks much better (except for the center dots) and maybe more will play. If/when a new style of map makes an appearance, I might give it a go (2nd edition maybe?). We'll see.......goo

I just got the game - but the maps are really annoying.

Why not just make new ones available for download? I'll print them myself.

(I'm thinking about getting Combat Commander - partly so I'll have usable maps.)

If I can get my scanner working, I was also considering scanning them and retouching them myself. Has anyone already done that?

Hannes - the new FH map art looks perfect.

Outlines on BoH maps - yes, they are a bit much.

Like many of you, I too chose not to buy the game because of the over-the-top map lines. If LnL:BoH ever revises their maps, I would probably make the purchase, but right now I'm playing Combat Commander, and the maps are awesome.
