Another Sherlock week. Otherwise, pretty quiet. Power Grid's return to #11 looks unsustainable. I still expect Imperial Assault to break top 10 this year.

Have a good week.

No surprise with Star Wars: Imperial Assault cutting the rope here.

It's nice seeing such a unique and relatively old game still getting so much attention.

The voyage of Marco Polo will be in the top 100 next week, I think.

Gimme...

Ok, I decided I'm too lazy to do the whole thing. Woot woot on the climb to #67 though. I assume top 50 isn't in the cards, but a boy can dream.

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars, where you will be forced to drift aimlessly farther into the vast, empty abyss of space until a lack of food, water and oxygen causes you to succumb to Death's cold embrace.

Because most think it is neither bland nor forgettable?

The expansion will also likely help it continue it's rise, I would think.

Let's be honest: there are quite a few bland and forgettable games that high. I do count Five Tribes among them.

Lol. I always enjoy the subplot of peoples' favorite or least favorites climbing or falling. Obviously I'm as biased as any, and as interested in seeing my horses lap the others, but it's always good theater.

I wonder what the correlation is between game rank and backlash. The "How could {x} be that high?!" comments seem reserved for top 50 games in my experience. There's exponentially less prestige and visibility for those outside the top 100, and top 50 seems to be another obvious, if arbitrary, cutoff for incredulity.

I like Five Tribes - and I'll own it eventually - but taste is of course subjective. I could gripe about game(s) I think are garbage that are much higher than Five Tribes, but clearly my opinion is at odds with the majority of BGG users.

I like Splendor! Maybe the copy you played is less fun than mine
