We've just launched a new tabletop card game - Src:Card the robot hacking, computer programming card game. Src:Card is a standalone 2 player (2-4 with expansion) card game that challenges players to build their own super robot core while attacking their opponent by writing code. Make your robot core as formidable as possible while creating code to attack and anticipate changes to your opponent's robot brain. Src:Card incorporates real coding concepts that are challenging for experts and easy to learn for beginners. Anyone can learn the game in 15 minutes.

As far as we know we are the first game to use programming as a game mechanic! A game usually takes thirty to forty minutes to complete. Our deck of 108 cards is half poker card sized to better simulate lines of code. Our team includes programming experts, professional artists and educators. Src:Card is a perfect blend of story and game mechanic. A code based cyberpunk, robot attacking tour de force. We love it and we're pretty many others will.

Below are links to our campaign and press page. Check it out!

Not exactly the first. Here are a few other good examples:

One Zero One and 101.1

Coding Farmers: The Java Programming Board Game for Kids

I own 101 and have backed 101.1 and Coding Farmers on Kickstarter (just waiting for them to arrive). I've also backed Src:Card. I think we need more programming type games like these...

Then there's also https://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/147370/robot-turtles, right?

And, to a certain degree, RoboRally, although the programming is very basic.

I'm a sucker for games like this, and would love to see a written review of this game.

By the way, here is a list of games with a programming mechanic.
