Subject: Open or closed discard? rss

A minor question: are discards considered open information or closed information? The specific example I have in mind is the Scout card since it came up in our last game. We haven't played Lore-rules yet, but there's a similar situation there as well when drawing extra Lore cards.

Not that it influenced play much since neither of us know the deck that well, but I can see it influencing play a bit now and again, adding even a small bluffing component in your discards!

Usually discard piles are open. I suspect the designer had that in mind here as well. Since BattleLore already has it's share of difficulty built into the card system I'd be reluctant to hide discards and make it even more difficult.
