I'm willing to moderate up to 4 players. So we still have 1 spot available. but ..

mentionned interested if we're doing a co-op game.. Which i'm fine with.

If you've never did a [pbf] Play by Forum. then i suggest reading the following post.
https://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/16693303

I will geekmail you guys the cards and I will use Vassal to keep track of everything.

Now what games do you guys want to play?

I assume co-operative, what scenario
- Basic (any of the basic)
- Lost Legion (vs volklare)
- Shades of Tesla (everybody familiar enough to play it?)

What optional rule do you guys want to play.

I'm not difficult

ps: if you do something that's illegal (miss a mana or a rule) and you've reveal something and it's caught on fast enough. A redo will be done automaticly.

Re: PBF #49 - undecided
I'm fine with a cooperative scenario. I have Lost Legions and would like to include it any scenario we do. I am not familiar with Shades of Tesla and I'm not finding a rulebook for it online (at least not in the file section of the BGG page).

edit: reading through the rule book for Shades of Tezla on the wizkids webiste.

Re: PBF #49 - undecided
Don't know Shades of Tezla bu I can always read ofcourse.
Otherwise Volkare's march (see Variants forum) but made for 4 players.
Can get huge though.
Or anything you guys see fit.

I'll warn you, I suffer from extreme bad luck. For example with a regular game I have had 90% of the times a city on the last tile (in theory this should be 50%) and many more stuf like that.

I don't have an issue with the Volkare's March Variant
https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/924170/volkares-march
I'm also open to any other scenario as well. First strong opinion will likely dictate what scenario we play.

Re: PBF #49 - undecided
Hmmm.... I just tried 2 coop scenarios and I'd rather play a competitive scenario, one with 2 v 2 could be fun.
I found the coop scenarios a bit too self indulgent at times, there was often very little cooperation, just a few knights stomping round a map killing everything and then a huge battle at the end - not the one you ended with us Phil there was some level of coop in that one
Both scenarios were also quite anti-climatic as the final battles were tyoo easy as well.

I'd prefer at least comp even if there is no PvP, some kind of 2v2. This is a strong opinion Chris
There's still interaction required between the teams, or at least the importance of playing well

So for me anything but coop, or if it is coop then at a very high level

I know nothing of this shady druid fellow from Tezla

Re: PBF #49 - undecided
I'm fine with Volklare March.

The set up is for 2 or 3 players. We'll want 4 player... so customizing a bit.

2 players:
Minor city level: 4/6/10
Final city level: 6/9/14
Volkare's level: 20/32/48

Wounds in Volkares deck: 18/15/12
Indecisive units: 2/3/4

3 players:
Minor city level: 4/6/10
Final city level: 8/12/18
Volkare's level: 30/48/72

Wounds in Volkares deck: 15/12/9
Indecisive units: 4/5/6

so here's my take on it for 4 players

Minor city level: 4/6/10
Final city level: 10/15/22
Volkare's level: 40/64/96

Wounds in Volkares deck: 15/12/9
Indecisive units: 4/5/6

I doubt you guys want option 1.. so i'll strike those out.

You guys will be playing it. not me So what do you guys want?

Re: PBF #49 - undecided
I would prefer no PvP as I find that leads to required defensive play which in turn hurts the speed and fun of the game in my opinion.

I would be interested in Volkares Endless Maze as it adds lots of adventure sites to the map, rewards the first player in, but leaves lots of options for the lagging players.

Yeah I am not so fussed about PvP unless it's a 2v2 Chris.

I played this scenario in the tournament and there are 1 or 2 problems with it which I am still "under oath" to keep until all the games ended. Not sure about Volkaire's march, I mean that until a scenario has been play tested well it can be a bit unstable

I would happily try Volkaire's maze again, it is good for 4 player even as there are plenty of sites 3 of 4 players can access. However there would be one change required which Ryan the designer agreed with, I can GM each of you the problem but then you are also "under oath"

I would like no pvp because it slows the game up a bit.

Coop or not, doesnt matter to me.

It sounds like Volkaire's Endless Maze is the scenario. Ed would you GM us all the required change so we can play the scenario the designer thinks is better than his current iteration?

Sure will, this is out of respect to Ryan's tournament, I don't think those players will read my comments and change their style but as Ryan laid down this stipulation I will respect it. GM ing you all now

OK sent, I think we should just ask Ryan if we want to change the map for 4 players, but not too worried about that point

Also the generals camp tile has the special rules applied if we wish. I don't know them but noone even went on his tile in the game I played

Let us know if / when you have an opinion

I would love conquer & hold 2v2 but it is a PvP scenario really. It's my favourite but Bob & Chris don't want PvP.

I think we need a tried & trusted game maybe. My preferences
1. Druid nights
2. Mine lib
3. City conquest
4. Dungeon lords, but good with any of them

We could still do a team or solo totally easy about that

I do think the endless maze would get a bit samey.... rather like an endless maze

It's interesting how many great variants there are but most of them are solo which says something.

Yeah, it's fun but somehow the minimal use for units is my only problem, units are fun. Let's see what the others say...

I thought that in all competitive scenario it would be PvP, but now I see that you can also play competitive only on points.
Didn't figured it out, because I only played solo.

For me anything is good.

Conquer & hold without PvP with 4 knights would be odd. Without PvP C&H just doesn't work.

Waiting on the snake then

My input on what?

I have not played a lot of scenarios except city conquest and dungeon lords

I think ed you just replaced and finished a game of dungeon lords with us.

I would not mind playing another one since my rng killed that scenario for me, but id prefer another scenario if possible

Wow what a prompt snake you are !

Chris prefers dungeon lords. I know we wrapped one up a few months back, I played last round basically.

What is your preference Sir Serpent ? And owl pants is good with anything so you probably get the casting vote.

Or if Chris just picks his second choice I think we'd all be fine with it.

Perfect i'll try to start getting the ball rolling tonight.

Any Optional rules wanted?
- Random tile orientation is a popular one.

Re: PBF #49 - undecided
So this is what we'll be playing correct?

- Scenario: Mine liberation
- Competitive, solo / teams of two
- - Teams will be selected at random pre-Knight selection
- Knight random / auctioned
- random tile orientation (enabled)

Does this sounds good to everybody?
