Tried to find how the games were different...couldn't find anything.

Here is what is included in the Special Edition:

7 additional pairs of city tokens (Arc de Triomphe, US Capitol, Brandenburg Gate, St. Basil's, Big Ben, White House and Forbidden City)
Numbered Gold Foil Embossed Box
Two additional rulebooks (French and German)

To be clear, there are no gameplay differences between the versions. Only aesthetic differences (and the other rulebooks).
