Card Description: "Choose a player each night to see if that player is not a Werewolf or Villager."

So ... it's the same thing as the Seer, only you say "NOT a Werewolf" or "NOT a Villager"?

But then the rulebook says:

"The Aura Seer looks for players with special roles that are not plain Villagers or Werewolves."

So ... they just say "Special" or "Not Special"? What if it's a Special Werewolf, or a Special Villager?

You're reading too much into it. It does not refer to the Werewolf or Villager team but to the actual card role.

If the Aura Seer points at a plain villager or plain werewolf, the moderator gives a thumbs-down. Else, get a thumbs-up. Figuring out what team that means is the Aura Seer's problem.

Thanks. The card really should have said "not a regular Werewolf or Villager".

Not really neccesary. A lone wolf is on team werewolf, and you know it is a werewolf of sorts, but it is not a 'werewolf' as defined by the original werewolf.

I play this card as "checks if target has a night action", aligns it with a more regular werewolf game role and covers variants with 3rd factions / vampire minions etc better
