Hey guys,

There should only ever be one or zero traitors in a game of Dead of Winter. You should start with 2 non-betrayal objectives per player and 1 betrayal objective regardless of the number of players. Shuffle them up and deal one out to everyone. To increase the chance of a betrayer you should reduce the number of non-betrayal objectives but only ever have one betrayal objective.

If you're finding games ending because characters are dying:
1. Don't move if you don't have to (or use fuel)
2. Don't move to locations where someone's already at
3. Don't fight zombies if you can avoid it
Basically, try not to roll the exposure die.

If a traitor wants to tank the game they'll have to:
1. Attack other characters directly (a dead giveaway (except if they're just trying to fulfill their secret objective))
2. Get people killed (by doing reckless things like moving to populated areas, making a ton of noise or attacking zombies)
3. Tank the round objective by (a) not participating, (b) putting the wrong things in (because the items are keyed to a location there are only a few suspects usually), (c) participating poorly.

Given all of that suspect anyone that does ANY of the above of being the traitor and seriously consider Exiling them.

Finally, Events (those cards that add survivors) go into your hand and do not need to be played as soon as they are drawn. Playing one tends to give you one more action per turn at the expense of increasing the risk of running out of food, overpopulating locations (causing bite spreads) and so on. Hold on to them. Unless you're the traitor, then go nuts

Thanks Mike,

We just heard we were prepping the deck wrong today on Twitter. I guess everyone is listening to the show today, haha.

But the double up only occurred in two of our games. We had plenty without the double traitor.

We will have to play it again and give another report on it and we will make sure to bring up our error on the next podcast...

It's been a while since we screwed something up this bad...so YAY?!?!
