I did a print and make my own version. About $50 all said and done. I bought some backerboard at lowes. Had them cut it down, then sprayed adhesive to the printed out trench design. Then bought a few 2x1s to make A couple of wooden tables to sit it on for the 3D effect. Took about 2 days and literally no woodworking ability. If I can dig up pics I'll post em.
I made my own play area image using the Warscapes Star Base terrain images. I then had the ~48" x 50" image printed on fabric (FabriconDemand.com). My buddy's brother built a really nice wooden board with a ~0.5" deep trench, that separates into three pieces for travel. I secured the fabric to the boards using iron on adhesive. Although it was a bit of work, the results are impressive. I used this trench for my GenCon sessions this past Aug.
Before I had the wooden boards built, I was simply printing my map image in B&W at the local FedEx Office location and mounting the images on poster board. This was cheap and pretty quick, but was only 2D.
