I have been searching but haven't found a good answer for this. Are villager tokens treated as hero figures able to do any action regular heroes do? I am the OL and I think the heroes are trying to get too much out of these NPCs. So can they search, open doors, do a revive action? Or are thy limited only to a move action and, in certain quests, an attack if they get attack dice. Any quote or link to an official rule would be much appreciated.

Villager tokens are scenario specific so they can only do whatever the scenario says they can do. Nothing more, nothing less.

Andrei is correct. If you're referring to familiars, they can only do a move action. Familiars treated as figures (like the reanimate and the wolf) have additional actions provided by their cards- in both of their cases it is an attack action. The reanimate cannot open doors, search, or revive.

Additionally, note that things like the reanimate can't even do 2 move actions or 2 attack actions. Just 1 move and 1 attack.
