When a blazing element is discarded (either because it's destroyed by a fountain, elephant or hedgehog or because it ignites the forest), is it in the discard pile and unavailable to be placed back on the board with another Blaze card? or does it go back to the blaze elemental cards ready to re-spawn?

It goes back to the stock, but if you're getting to the stage where you're exhausting the pile of blazing elementals, you're probably in trouble anyway!

but, but... how are you avoiding exhausting the pile? using hedgehogs on the blazes? You've got to get a bit lucky to either have enough hedgehogs to deal with all those blazes or not have them show up when there are a bunch of zero elementals on the field.

My way it's only like 16 nasties. Your way, it's like an unlimited number.

Killing blazes with hedgehogs is definitely a priority. Also try to get the 0s and 3s off the board as quickly as possible before they get the chance to flare up (e.g use whales to run them into fountains)

The game is won or lost at the draw piles. Hedgehogs, foxes (racoons?) and pigeons are your friends. As long as you are in control of the draw piles, you are in control of the game.

Thanks. Just played it again and won with them going back to the drawpile...

Starting with a hand of 8 cards makes a really big difference! blush
