I recently created rules to a campaign mode for Legendary, and I thought I would share the love. There are many reasons why I prefer the campaign:
-the setup time is greatly reduced because the hero deck stays the same
-the heroes eventually get killed off, which resembles what would actually happen if the heroes had to continually save the world
-you have to plan not only for the current game, but future games
-you get used to the heroes and are better able to use their abilities

I will be holding a contest with this campaign, which I would like to make a monthly thing if you geeks enjoy it. In order to enter, just tip this forum 1 Geekgold. The player who gets the highest score during the campaign will recieve all of the Geekgold. HONOR SYSYTEM! NO CHEATING! In order to be eligible, you must have tipped this forum 1 Geekgold and posted somewhere in this forum the words "Final Score" followed by you final score by 11:59 November 30th. You can post as much as you want, I'll be posting each game, but all that I need from you is the final score.

This month's theme is Avengers, so you must use five of the following heroes: Captain America, Hulk, Thor OR Lady Thor, Iron Man OR Superior Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Nick Fury.

The games are played with the Golden Solo rules other than a few changes:
-If the Villain Deck runs out, the Mastermind runs away. This is counted as a "win" and you count the VP's from your Victory Pile, but none of the Tactics that you didn't defeat.
-If the Hero Deck runs out, the heroes have become exhausted. Leave the pile empty, and continue to move the HQ to the left each turn. Soon, the HQ will be empty and you will no longer be able to recruit.
-If you beat all four Mastermind Tactics but lost the Final Showdown, you still "win", but you don't get the extra 6 or so VP's from the Mastermind card.
-If any setup requires you to alter the Hero Deck, ignore it.

There is two outcomes to each game: win or loss.

If you win:
-Count your Victory Pile for Victory Points. Add this to your running total.
-The Mastermind, Scheme and Villains are returned to the box. Set up the new Villain Deck and Mastermind according to the next game.
-The bystanders from your Victory Pile are shuffled back into the bystander pile.
-All cards in the KO pile other than starting deck cards are returned to the box and will not be used again in the campaign.
-All cards in the HQ and the discard pile next to the HQ are shuffled and placed on top of the hero deck. These heroes were training to fight but never did so they're the most prepared.
-All cards in your deck other than starting deck cards are shuffled and placed into the bottom of the deck. If you draw a wound or grey hero from the hero deck in a later game, it goes directly into your discard pile.

If you lose:
-DO NOT count your Victory Pile.
-The Mastermind stays the same, but he has a new scheme. Use the backup scheme for the next game. Set up the Villain deck the same, with changes based upon the new scheme. If you already lost to the backup scheme for that Mastermind, use the next backup scheme on the general list.
-The bystanders from your Victory Pil, all cards in your deck besides staring deck cards, and all cards in the KO pile are returned to the box and will never be used again in this campaign.
-Shuffle the cards in the HQ and discard pile, and place it on top of the Hero Deck.

The campaign ends when you lose a game and the Hero Deck is empty.
