Hey yall!

The rule states that a general can activate units stacked with or adjacent to the general. Is this an either or situation? I always thought that an activation by a general was almost like using a 1-1 hq. Any help?

I think that the intent of the rule is clear that units in the generals and/or adjacent hexes can be activated even though it could have been worded better.

So yes you could say that generals are mostly like 1-1 HQs.

There are some differences that I can think of from the top of my head:
- Generals cannot move before activating units like HQs can
- Generals cannot take part in combined offensives

That's what I thought. Thanks very much for your reply roger. I just broke the game out again and I'm about to play the barbarossa scenario. Any suggestions on an historical Soviet deployment? From what I understand the red army was concentrated mainly on thearth frontiers with very little in the way of reserves.

Yes historical would be with most soviet units near the border and a little reserves near Minsk, Kiev, Odessa and Riga and a lot of air units in reach of German air.

Do think there is better options for the russian player but that is one of the really fun things to experiment with in this game.

I have a Barbarossa setup created by the game's designer, Doug Niles. Along with some of his suggested house rules.
