Just wondering if anyone inquired about an upgrade kit for 2nd edition owners similar to what FFG did with Descent.

Unless I get enough return to repurchase the 3rd edition (which I doubt will happen now that the game is released to positive reviews), I will not be getting this game.

I hope FFG considers doing something like this, at least something to mirror the combat system of the 3rd edition.

Thanks

Do you need more card ideas for the D&D Adventure System games?

What's wrong with your 2nd edition? Based on the Ebay pricing before 3rd Edition was announced, it seems people thought it was a pretty good implementation, otherwise it would have been worth next to nothing when it went out of print.

The "upgrade kit" would have to consist of everything except the minis...

So an upgrade "kit" in this scenario is the entire game man. Sorry, but it's not feasible.

I laughed at the minis comment above and then went "he's right". Aside from the minis there literally is nothing from the second edition that transfers to the third edition untouched.

Here's your upgrade kit. Sell 2e for an absurd amount, turn around and buy 3e, and still have plenty of money leftover!

Yeah, that's what I thought - didn't hurt to ask anyway. I guess I'll keep and enjoy my 2nd edition.

cheers

Done with the upgrade kit.

... I'm lying.

Still. I can see many ways to use the 3rd edition concepts with the 2nd edition. Glad the minis stayed the same. I spent time painting them. I'd rather buy the upgrade. But maybe I can have a version 2.2.

Keep the train dice and use coins for the tickets.
Draw your own time track.
Write up new page on encounters. Make up stuff.
Write up new page on combat cards. Make up stuff.
Make a "despair" circle and cut it into 3 pieces.
Note the back track card changed.
Note the player and drac powers changed on their cards.
find some red beads for hit point counters.
I'll have to update my perl/tk gui program.
