Has anyone tried both? Which did you like more? It probably takes 6 bins and a lid to hold as many as 1 collector box, so the cost is probably a wash. I suppose the box comes with the bag and the $4 worth of boosters. The bins are more versatile, buy you're only going to get 10-12 characters in each. Tough call for me. What do you think?

It depends what you're looking for. A complete storage system for all of your dice, the collector's box is probably better. A smaller, modular system especially for taking to events (OP, tournament, Rainbow Drafts), the Zen Bins are great for.

This game is bullshit.

The Collector's Box is a rip-off in terms of what you actually receive; the alternative art card is worthless, the pearlescent dice are only enough for one player and just simply replace the ones you already have.

That said, the Zen Boxes look pretty cheap and nasty to me, so the Collector's box is still the better storage option for me...

Sorry to say that there is really no perfect solution for storing all those DM sets.

Pros and Cons Section based on having both.

Collector's box
+Holds a lot of dice
+Comes with a few extras
+Easy to sort 5 dice per area tray
-Won't hold cards well, more so if sleeved.
-Doesn't come for certain DM sets
-Terrible for bringing a single team for constructed play.

Other thoughts
Long stacking only, do not recommend Vertical unless banded.

If not using extra card space on cards, is nice to have life dice or counters. Some space under the insert as well.

Zen Bins
+Holds a few, or lots of dice depending on build
+Modular
+Holds cards and dice very well.
+Extra base hold tokens, counters, bags and etc.
-May come apart when dropped. 3+ feet tested.
-Will come apart when dropped on side - 1+ feet tested.
-Wasted tray unless you bought a lid.

Other thoughts
Looks nice on shelves and easy to store, band up and bag.
Solid plastic that clips together pretty well.
Able to be hold extra dice, cards, and sleeves easily.
Great for keeping DM sets together yet separate.
Really made for making teams and keeping them together.

Final thoughts:
I did a little comparison of $PPD (Amount Price per die) stored.
Collector's set will hold a few more dice for a bit less.
Basically comes down to about few cents difference. Without shipping or sales. And the amount the ZB tray can hold varies if you use the card slots for any dice as well so the $PPD fluctuates in favor of ZB if you use the card trays for dice.

When it comes down to it I suggest getting whatever you can on sale. Ultimately I use both. Mainly use Zen for my DnD set, because I play it often with the wife and we like to keep some team builds saved.

Hope this helps.
