I get confused reading sometimes.
I have trouble reading rule books as well.
I didnt have any trouble reading Magic kingdom for sale by Terry brooks

I looked at the KS page (and many other ks pages) and am trying to determine whats exclusive to KS and whats retail and act 1 and act 2.

My (assumidly wrong) assumptions:

+Act one comes to retail first?
or does retail show up with act 1 act 2

+It seems to me that the only FIVE exclusive items are
fancy box, bag, card holder, delux sheets and standard bearer.

+It looks like all stretch goals are going to be in retail.
+110 dollars covers act 1 and act 2 in kickstart.
But, retail does not contain act 1 and act 2. You have to buy them separately in retail.

Please correct my assumptions if im wrong.

ACT I will be the retail core box.

ACT II will be another expansion but it's not clear yet exactly what is included but it will not be available at the same time as the retail box. It will be available a later date like the Dragon Expansion.

Your other assumptions are right.

I think it's really simple. Look at the big graphic that has all the stuff on it. You can find that on the campaign's main page. It says "Retail content" (in red) on the first part. So you see, there's some SGs that are part of the retail set. Also, note how the retail version contains Act I only.

With the KS edition, you get all the stuff that's listed on "KS Contents" in ADDITION to the retail version (except the box which replaces the retail box, and maybe the hero sheets). So there's a LOT of extra content in the KS version. Among a lot of other content, the KS edition also has Act II, which is not part of the retail version of S&S.

You're right about the exclusives. The only exclusives to the campaign are those things that have a green KS seal to them in the graphic. So there's not too many of those (which is a good thing, as hopefully there will be fan-generated scenarios, so it's good if all players have access to the same game-relevant content).

Logus and Seb, thank you for your responses.

if it was that simple i wouldn't be asking.

The fact that 2 other people responded with *i think*
then its not straight forward and im not alone in my confusion.

"KS contents, in addition to the retail version."
--which means the must be exclusive, unless they are not exclusive in which case they are a bonus to the kickstarter and not a bonus to the retailer. that makes sense. I see where you are going with this.

[q="DomHiob"] there's some SGs that are part of the retail set. [/q

What the hell is an SG? I dont speak acronyms, i speak common pigeon tongue.

but i do get both act 1 and act 2 for my 110 dollars so im happy bout that.

ah, ok, I get the confusion now: Kickstarter contents that are in addition to the retail version are NOT necessarily exclusives. The point is, Ares has plans to sell these things in retail later. But they'll come as separate purchases in retail. With the KS version, they're already included. A Kickstarter exclusive would mean this Kickstarter campaign is the only chance to get that item. So, you will never get the bag, the deck holder, the special box and the Standard Bearer hero in retail. Everything else could one day be sold as separate packages and expansions in retail as well.

sorry. SG = stretch goal, very common abbreviation in Kickstarter (KS)

edit: added "necessarily" in the first paragraph for clarity.

It's simple-ish, but not simple to figure out.

All Stretch Goals are going to hit retail.

The original box includes the 5 main heroes, Sally, and Act 1.

Tristan the Warlord/Standard Bearer and the other KS Exclusives stuff (which ISN'T game play related) is KS exclusive, there's not much, bag, player boards, card holder.

There will be an Act 2 box that goes to retail including Act 2 and I believe the Berserker/Barbarian and Bard/Blademaster.

There will be two standalone boxes for heroes, the Shaman/Druid and the awesome kickass Dragondude and Summonguy.

There will be a medium expansion that goes to retail for Vaelastrasz and his dragonborn buddies.

I just read your assumptions now and it looks like they're completely accurate. Sorry for wasting your time.

As I understand it the base game is Act 1 which contains the following
• 5 heroes
o 1 Companion
• 20 enemies
o 5 Raiders
o 5 Orc Warriors
o 5 Gremlins
o 5 Orc Shamans
• 2 master enemies
o Troll
o Orc King
• The Act 1 Storybook

Act 2 will be a large expansion that contains:
• 1 Hero
• 20 Enemies
o 5 Skeletons
o 5 Death Knights
o 5 Werewolves
o 5 Succubus
• 2 master enemies
o Count Dalv
o Undead Lord
• Act 2 Storybook

There will be a side-quest expansion which may include:
• Maybe 1-2 heroes
• 15-20 enemies
o 5 Efreet
o 5 Nightwalkers
o 5 Demonologists
• Probably 1 Master Enemy
• Quest Book

As far as items which are strictly a bonus of being in on the Kickstarter:
• KS exclusive Tristan Standard-Bearer Hero
• KS exclusive Crit bag
• KS exclusive card/deck holder
• KS exclusive deluxe hero sheets
• KS exclusive big box with dedicated art

Please note: I could be totally wrong.

Lex, you are 100% correct. Except you forgot to mention Vastaryous' Lair, also a side-quest expansion.

and there are also several additional heroes, each of them can enhance the game by adding his presence in the party or simply due to its new treasure and stash cards.

just regarding the kickstarter exclusives. So one of the kickstarter exclusives is the S&S cloth bag. But also listed under the $95 Immortal bundle is another cloth bag. Does that mean at the $199 pledge level you get two bags? if that is the case, that's awesome and if not oh well another $5 add on is okay seeing as I'm going to be getting a second set of coins and third set of minis so I can have three sets of unpainted heroes to look at instead of just two
