When you play the prefect card with the praefect magnus and pass it to the next player, does it go into their discard or their hand?

Also, anyone figure out an easy way to tally up the scores. My wife and I get a little confused with all the components on the board and multiple ways to tally up everything. Does everyone just remove the game pieces as they count them?

It's not played out of your hand, but simply placed in front of you as a reminder. The Prefect card is placed in your discard pile as normal, the Praefectus Magnus card is used to double your bonus and then passed to be displayed in front of the next player until they are able to use it.

The Preafectus Magnus card just sits in front of you until used. You don't actually play it as a card. When you take goods and have the card, you use the power of the card and then pass it to the right. It never goes into your hand.

As far as scoring goes, you don't want to remove pieces as they can get counted for multiple things (ex. a single house can score for the good type and the province). Check out the printable score sheets in the files section here on BGG.

It doesn't go into your hand or discard. It just sits in front of you until you play prefect (for resources, not for money) and then it passes to sit I front of the next player.

Taking pieces off the board would be confusing as they count in multiple categories. Try scoring each category in turn working your way down the player aid card. Just count up the pieces on the board for that category, apply the multiplier from the card and move your piece on the score track. Then don't forget the points for the person who ended the game.

It's much simpler to post those immediately (and it reminds everyone who it was ended the game while final turns play out), before you calculate the Vesta points from left over money and goods. Then we start working down the gods as you say.

We score each god in turn for everyone, rather than finish one player and move onto the next. Seeing the VP markers racing around is also a great way to understand and analyse how the winner triumphed, which should improve future play.

If you buy the Salsa Expansion you get a Praefect Magnus tile and won't be confused at all!

And for the Minerva cards, we start with the person last on the score track, then next lowest and so on.

Played with the expansion for the first time last night. I really like the Super Prefect tile!
