I am about to play my first game. In the scenario where it shows to place a Bomber does this mean, place four soldiers plus one Bomber or does it mean the Bomber is placed with any Soldier Unit in that hex area.

4 infantry plus 1 bomber figure is what you need. If al 4 infantry figures are lost the unit is gone (i.e. The bomber figure leaves the board together with the last infantry figure).

Hi Jeff,
Harry is right.
All details for "Special Personnel" units are described in the rules.
You can find it here.

There is a reason not to do it that way. It has to do with future expansions. Read Richard Borgs earlier comment on that.

After reading Richard's post I still see no reason to use five pieces. If you use Richard's suggested procedure, you still lose hoth a normal figure and the bomber on the deadly roll. So if the roll is bad, you just take the bomber rather than a normal, and if not, you take the normal. Maybe I'm missing something?

Take care

Peter

One very easy reason to place the bomber as the fifth figure (other than the designer of the game saying that is how it is done) is to help remind you that it is a unit with a bomber. When I played the game incorrectly the first time by only having four figures, it was easy to forget that it was a specialty unit.
