So I just wanted to make sure we played this right as it seemed a bit exploit-y. Our COdA virus is Red and we were searching for the Virologist there. This was towards the end of the game and getting down to the wire as we had completed the "cure three diseases" and "eradicate a disease" objectives. So I came up with a way to quickly search for the virologist as fast as I could to end the game. One player was playing the Quarantine Specialist and on their turn I asked them to quarantine a city in red I was going to search at that I was already at. I was the soldier and had three red cards in my hand at the time, one of which I had put an equipment on at the start of the game: the temporary research station one.

So the start of my turn I lay down the temp research station, discarding the card, which says "it is not an action." For my first action I put a medical equipment sticker on the card of the city I am in, I believe hazmat suit. I then do a search action for my second action discarding the card for the city I am at as well as the other random red card for a total of five search advancements: three for the card for the city I am at, one for the random red card, and one for quarantine marker. For my third action I use the soldiers ability to pick back up the city card I had stuck an equipment sticker to. For my fourth I perform another search action for four search advancements: three for the card for the city I am at and one for quarantine marker, going nine total that turn and overtaking the virologist. Was this play legitimate?

Yep, it's legit. We did the exact same thing. The Soldier is really good at searching for things. (Which is probably part of the reason he can't Cure a disease.)

Cool! Thanks, just wanted to make sure we didn't overlook any rules in making the play.

Also he can get cards back from the discards like crazy, so he would be VERY broken if he could fine cures

At the start of July, when we saw what we needed to do, I created the Soldier and did something very similar to complete the search on my very first turn.

I spent the rest of the game repeatedly pulling a hand grenade out of the discards and repeatedly lobbing it at faded figures, which is at least as effective as the Colonel.

I like the Soldier! I want to keep playing it. But the other players are meanies and wouldn't let me upgrade him with Grizzled so nothing short of a falling city can stop him. *sniff*
