Jeff had samples at Fall In for SDD size armor.

He said things are being manufactured and the hope is that things will be out soon.

I didn't see anything in play. Perhaps someone else did. Jeff went through a brief demo of how to determine a hit using the cards, and a brief explanation of some of his thought process.

On Friday when I was in the dealer hall I had to leave because I was running SMG at 5PM and needed to get going. Then on Saturday I was on my way out so didn't have too much time either.

The fact that I actually got to the dealer hall is amazing. I think that was the first time in over a year that I have been down there.

I got to play SHOW at Fall-In. Had greyhound. Jeff did not have crew ready yet, so regular soldiers had to stand in. It was really fantastic! This is about crew manning a vehicle - so crew actions is what makes things happen in the vehicle, and not just a bunch of guys along for the ride. It really was like watching Fury, and even though I'm not really a huge fan of armor, and was very concerned about adding armor to the game - after my play at Fall-In I'm pretty psyched to get some armor! This is going to be really fantastic to explore things like unescorted armor vs. infantry, and single tank on single tank - more like crew vs. crew.

The way it's coming out, my recommendation is that vehicles and crew are played as their own squad. I do not recommend a combined infantry/vehicle squad.

In our battle a Panzerfaust penetrated my greyhound and hit the magazine. I thought it was game over! BUT, luckily the ammo exploded out, and my crew wasn't harmed. Unfortunatly, that meant all I had was the round in the breach and the ready round.

Oh, and .50's are nasty.

This is really making the waiting tough. The idea of the Greyhound, Half-tracks, or an M3 Scout car, to toy around with sounds really cool. I was hoping we would at least hear something before year's end.

That would make 4 player games very interesting, if one player was the tank and the other was escorting infantry (for each side). I wonder how well that would work in two player games? If you could play as two separate squads. I ask because without playing it I wonder how muddied/bogged down (no pun intended) you would get playing a tank, crew, and a few soldiers.

On a separate note, do you think SHOW rules would benefit from being formatted like some FFG titles I own where there are two rule books with one being a "Learn to Play/Basic Rules" and then the Details/ Exceptions/Advanced Rules"?

In my opinion, it would play better as four player, but this is based on my personal experience trying to handle more than one squad. I find that it gets confusing and you end up taking speak actions for members of the wrong squad, and things get all jumbled and confused. However, YMMV. I think the SGT's games scale best to one squad per person, where each player (aka squad leader) can focus on their own maneuver element.

I know once the online game elements come out, mass battles will become very possible - and company level actions will not be out of the question, provided enough folks are online at the same time.

Imagine a platoon of infantry moving into a village, supported by a couple of tanks. All graphics in 3D of course...yeah, now we're talkin!

These look like they're for SMG rather than DDS?

The foreground tank definitely looks like SMG, but there is one in the back that looks SDD size (half as long).

The ones that were at Fall In were for SDD rather than SMG.

Maybe we can through a few more letters into the mix.

Oh, wait, SDD HOW and SMG HOW all by LBG....
