Everything seems to have its own Coat of Arms, even my town, so I was thinking that it would make sense for wargamers to have one too.

So I was thinking of a quartered shield with a hexagon in one section, which would represent... a hexagon - the wargamer's favourite polygon. Anyone any possible ideas for the other sections?

Animals around the edge would be nice, but I'm not sure what animal could represent a wargamer.

For the motto, I think 'discede meam caespes' would fit. If anyone has a better suggestion or is able to translate the Latin more accurately, please fell free to comment.

Animal: War elephant. Topical and representative of a wargamers ability to remember rules.

Motto: I don't know the meaning of the motto you suggested, I tried google but couldn't get a translation to work.
My suggestion is the always classic "Alea iacta est"

Two potential images come to mind:

1. A pair of dice on a baize green field.
2. A castle, with a fist over it, and two dice are tumbling through the castle gate.

Motto: Alea iacta est. ("The die is cast." Attributed to Caesar).

Here's an example, albeit with three dice and a blood-red field:

The banner should read "nihil esse tam parva argumentari aeternum".

"Nothing is too small to argue forever".

Or the short and sweet: "semper arguendi"

Stick Trogdor, crew-exposed, in a Panzer IIIN or T-34/76, and I think you just might have something.

Utterly ridiculous. That shield doesn't have rounded corners.

How about Alea mittitur est. "The die is thrown"

Or whatever the actual Latin equivalent to substitute "thrown" for "cast" to keep it a play on Caesar's quote but in a wargaming context.

The Shield should be a Hexagon

In the Hex would be counters representing the 'family' members.

Let's face it: It would be a plain looking coat of arms with an open book— a rule book. That's what's common across all wargames, regardless of mechanics. That's where we spend most of our time.

LOL
