I switched to clear-basing for my Dust figures a while back, and decided I would try the same for KD. Really pleased with the results and how they let the board show through - too lovely a piece of art to be obscured!

Looks great

Just an FYI, you can add the image size to the BBCode so people can see the full size on your post rather than having to click on the image and go to a separate page. Example:
[ImageID=###### original]
[ImageID=###### large]

Wow Stu, I really like those clear bases. Does the plastic cement still work fine for these?

I use superglue for the basing. Only ends a tiny drop.

I definitely like it too. Where did you get the bases from?

I am new to miniatures and was having trouble basing the Screaming Antelope with Super Glue. What method did you use to mount yours?

No problem. I play a lot of PbF, so I use it a lot.

Boardgamegeek has actually modified the BBCode quite a bit. Here's a list of all the things you can do:

My favorite is inline images.

I know I pinned mine. Model glue works better than super glue on this plastic.

I sent the below to a chap who geekmailed me - but might be useful here too!

- - -

I switched to clear bases as it simultaneosuly hit me that I was spending time making bases pretty that I could have spent gaming, and also that the lovely terrain mates I had were being obscured. Not to mention that desert-based figures look daft when you play on a snowy map!!

To be honest, I got lucky first time round with bases - I bought mine from ebay from user "modularterrain". He is based in Spain, so postage may be too much to make it worthwhile, but he cuts in a range of sizes and will do bespoke sizes on request. They are about 2mm thick which stops them flexing without lifting too far off the playing surface, and they come with film on both sides for protection that you peel off before use.

Figurewise, my routine now is to lightly glue to an old base, paint in flat colours, brush with Army Painter quickshade dip (strong), then spray varnish. Only glue to the clear bases once all the painting and varnishing is complete!! The Dip is another great time-saver, I estimate it has cut my painting time in half by removing all need to highlight, shade, wash, etc. All the survivors in that photo had flat white cloth, flat flesh, one hair colour, and a couple dots for eyeballs. ALL the detail on them is thanks to dip, which takes about 10 seconds to apply per figure!

Those clear bases look great.
At first I thought they were standing without any base.
The painting job is very good too.
I should try the dip method because most people says is a great method but I should paint the miniatures a bit first... blush
