My girlfriend and I have been playing a lot of "Keesdrow". It's almost exactly the opposite play of Scrabble, but the idea is the same: make words out of a given set of letters.

To aid in my studies of better words to play, I was looking around for a database search engine that would allow me to choose a certain number of letters, and retrieve the words where those letters could be used in any combination.

Anything like this exist out there on the Internets?

Thanks all.

Not exactly what you need, but perhaps it will help.

There is an anagram engine at http://wordsmith.org/anagram/

You put in the letters and it spits out all of the words that can be made with those letters. It uses ALL of the letters and will make more than one word when needed (unless you change the settings, look for the advanced options).

This is the best tool I know of to do what you are looking for:

http://www.quinapalus.com/cgi-bin/match

It takes a little getting used to, but is very powerful.

Yep. Pretty darn close.

If I ever get free time, I might write one that uses regular expressions. The searches would take forever, but you would get an exact answer.

Thanks for the response.
