Spoiler (click to reveal)
So it happend that we played our first may game.
As the Colonel was introduced we decided to take him with us. Together with the Quarantine Specialist and the Lab Building Guy (we are playing the german edition so i don't know the exact trasnlations.
Well to make it short, in the end the colonel died. He got three scars in one game.
This was a bit our fault and a bit of very (!) bad luck against and a bit against all odds.
So know he is dead and gone forever.
We are asuming that more and more characters will die.
Due to the relations this is a real human loss and we are all very sad.

Does anyone else lost the colonel in his first game?
We think that know things are getting interesting.
I hope that the game is still doable without him, but i think it has to.

It's definitely doable without him. We didn't touch him. At least it wasn't someone that you've been playing with the entire campaign....

Played May and won without him.

Not too sure how amazing he really is -- but I'm currently in June so I'm not 100% if he becomes vital.

My group has been rocking the Medic (w/ local connections), Dispatcher (w/ pilot), Q-Specialist, and Structure making guy. We sit were the medic and Q-specialist alternate b/w the 2 movers (Dispatcher and Ops Expert).

We have just been destroying the game over the last 3 months with that exact set-up. I don't see things changing unless some catastrophic event happens or some other power unfolds that must be used.

All in all, I'm not too sure if he is a big loss. I'd be very bummed if we lost any of the 4 I listed -- luckily enough we have escape any scarring to any of the characters

We played him the first time he became available and he was terrible, so we left him on the bench until we needed a sacrificial scapegoat later. devil

I think the Colonel is the weakest of the bunch, not very useful unless you completely clean the city of figures and quarantine it and pray no accelerated incubation happens, otherwise get scarred! To complicate matters he can only remove figures if there are military bases, and his card may as well say can't find a cure. Terrible character.

Because you choose characters after setting up, we have used the Colonel in games with especially clustered Faded on the map at the beginning of the game.
