Subject: context for "touring version" or "travelling version" references? rss

Seeing posts using these phrases & confused. Sometimes seems to refer to packing parts of the game to play it somewhere other than your home, others make no sense to me.

I think the posts may be referring to the Touring Performance mode in the King in Yellow expansion. The expansion cards are separated and shuffled, then placed on top of their respective deck. Through the course of the game, the expansion cards are drawn and exhausted before the base game cards are drawn.

Some of the small box scenarios have an alternate deck setup that causes more cards from the expansion to be played. It's a matter of a slightly different feel, compared to just mixing the expansion in. Touring Versions are usually harder.
