I have a survivor who has taken a -1 speed injury. While the rules are explicit in that the speed stat can be negative, can a character's total speed be 0? If my -1 speed survivor uses a speed 1 weapon, does that mean he simply can never attack, a rather ludicrous state of affairs? Or must total speed be at least 1, in which case he could use a slow weapon to compensate for his disability?

I believe speed and movement are always at least 1 even if they are below it after modifiers.

Movement is always a minimum of 1. There's nothing stating Speed has a minimum. See below.

Is there a reference to this in the rulebook somewhere? It would make the Bone Witch less witch-y.

In the back of the book it states that the minimum speed is 1.

Page 220

Speed (Attribute/Modifier/Bonus): Speed is added to a survivor's weapon speed or a monster's attack profile to determine the number of attack rolls. If speed is negative, subtract it from the number of dice rolled for an attack. A monster of survivor attack with less than one speed still has one attack roll. Weapons with the slow keyword cannot benefit from positive speed bonuses.

I thought so too, but looking back in the book I only see that qualification for movement now (p.42)...hmmm.

Ah, the second definition. Found it, thank you Mike.

Speed (Attribute/Modifier/Bonus): ..."A monster or survivor attack with less than one speed still has one attack roll."... (p.220)

Much appreciated. This means the survivor actually got better in some ways. The same event that gave him -1 speed gave him +1 luck, so now he's actually good with big, heavy, easily wounding weapons.
