A fan-made alternate use of Steve Jackson's Zombie Dice
Okay, so now that the zombies have taken over, a few of them have started to have competitions to see who is a better zombie. Since they do have limited thought capacity, the first (and so far only) thing they've come up with is a race.
The problem is, there's just enough of those pesky “normals” around and they like to think they are still in charge. So when a race is organized, the normals come out and take pot shots at the racers and the crowd. But the zombies press on with their competitions.
Here's what's needed:
The original 13 Zombie Dice from Steve Jackson Games. Remember, this is a fan-made game to give you another use for your Zombie Dice! Ideally, each runner would have their own set of dice. There's really no limit on the number of runners.
You'll need some sort of counting track. A cribbage board works well. You just need some way to tell how far you've gone- even a sheet of paper to tally the steps works. You can run a set length, or to the last one running. Just make sure all the zombie runners agree and are pointed in the right direction!
When you're ready to race, here's all you do: You are going to take turns (especially if there is only one set of Zombie Dice in use!) so to figure out who goes first (and is the first to get shot at!) each runner takes a green die. Roll them at the same time. First one to roll feet goes first. Keep rolling to break ties or someone gives up. The first player then takes the 6 green dice and 1 yellow die. Don't get rid of the others, you may need them.
On your turn, you will roll all 7 dice. Set aside any feet. Set aside any blasts. If you roll three blasts, you have been knocked down and your turn is over. You don't score any feet. If there are less than three blasts, you may stop your turn and score your feet- one space for each feet showing. If you have any brains, you may re-roll those. If you end up with three (or more) blasts, your turn is over and you score zero feet. If you get more feet, place them with the others you've set aside. The most you can score is 7 feet on a turn. Once you have seven feet showing, your turn ends and you move seven spaces forward.
But there's a catch: If you roll 3 (or more) blasts, not only is your turn over, you must replace a green die with a yellow one on your next turn. You'll do that every time you roll 3 blasts on a turn, eventually replacing the green dice with red ones. Yes, you could be rolling all yellow and red dice!
Keep going and taking turns until you reach the limit you've set-or there's no other runners left. Winner eats brains!
Oh, and on the off chance you happen to roll 7 blasts on the same turn? That's it. You're really dead. There's just not enough of you left to get up and move. Your race is officially over. Everyone else can keep running.
