Amy and I took a trip this weekend to visit some family. It is about a 2 1/2 hour drive and to help make the trip more enjoyable we decided to try and game while we drive. Since it was only the 2 of us and 1 was driving, that cut down the list of available games from our collection of 350+ games.

After reviewing game choices, we concluded that Wits and Wagers should work nicely. I know the box says 3-21 players but it works fine with 2.

We left the large playing mat and chips at home and just brought the question cards and pencil and paper.

The passenger read the question aloud and then wrote their answer down and then asked the driver for an answer and recorded that. Betting worked the same way. The passenger recorded their bet and then the driver announced their bet. Then the passenger reads the answer and computes the winnings and losings.

It was fun, we played 7 games on the trip out and another 6 the following day on the return home.

Day 1 belonged to Boomer winning 5 of 7 , including the first 4 games. Amy took revenge on the trip home winning 4 of 6 games.

The Big highlight was Amy's come from behind victory in game 5 when she had the exact 1.25 Billion for "walmart's worldwide sales on the day after thanksgiving 2001" Boomer guessed a pathetic 701 Million. That enabled Amy to win a close 120-110 game.

Boomer came back in game 6 after a close miss to start. The question was "when did the US enter WWI" Remembering that Uncle Sam showed up late for that one, he guessed 1918. They were late, but not that late, actual answer was 1917. Amy guessed 1927 but smartly bet on "the actual answer is lower". Boomer battled back going exact on the last 3 questions "What year did Alaska and Hawaii becomes states(1959). Most gold medals by an individual in one olympics(7 - mark spitz in 1972) and the year Elvis did the first music video - jailhouse rock(1957). To win 160-130.

Day 1 Scores:

Game 1: Boomer 140 Amy 100
Game 2: Boomer 200 Amy 120
Game 3: Boomer 145 Amy 130
Game 4: Boomer 160 Amy 155
Game 5: Amy 120 Boomer 110
Game 6: Boomer 160 Amy 130
Game 7: Amy 210 Boomer 90

Day 2 Scores:

Game 2: Amy 145 Boomer 110
Game 3: Amy 170 Boomer 60
Game 4: Amy 140 Boomer 130
Game 5: Boomer 145 Amy 125
Game 6: Amy 155 Boomer 130
