As a big time fan of tower defense games I have modified many rules to this game to increase variability and make each session as fun as possible. One of which was to add mini bosses to the waves.

This is really easy to do and does not require to much thinking.

Wave one says summon 3 monsters. Do that, then roll one more time and bring a 4th monster out. That will be your mini boss. All you need to do is double its hit points.

I usually suggest mini bosses should move slightly slower, but hit harder. So I would increase their attack stats by 1 and decrease there movement by 1.

Now if you want to make the mini boss even harder, increase all of its other stats by 1.

If you like even harder mini bosses, increase all stats by 2 or more!

You could always double them as well, but I would refrain from that because double stats for a level 5 monster or even some level 3 monsters could be extremely dangerous to the allies. As well as making them almost un-killable or so fast you cant keep up with them. Also you can not double the dodge value because some monsters literally will be untouchable.
