I designed the the Experience mode to help me when I played by my self, but it cat be applied to any way you play.
When a character kills a monster, that character gains XP equal to that monsters level. So a level 1 monster give you 1 XP point and and level 5 monster give you 5 XP. I used the status effect tokens to track XP per character.
At the end of the round you can use the XP to level up your characters as follows:
+1 action is 10 XP
all other stats cost 5 XP +(1 for each level beyond its base value) so if you want to increase your damage of an attack by 1 it would be 5 for the first level and 6 for the 2nd. All stats only increase by 1 with the exception of HP which increase by 2.
Again i used the status effect tokens to track which stats I increased and one token for each level of such.
All stats can be increased as well. Range of ranged weapons, but not melee ones. Damage done by the attacks. The hit roll of an attack. As well as its damage and crit range.
