My first game of the year and already I'm showing extraordinary honor in the game. You may call it honor or stupidity as I sacrificed a win to preserve my pride... however ironic that may seem. Fenris completely thwarted my plans by having a Kinfolk Cop, but I stuck it out and would/could have won had it not been for my refusal to take the easy victory.
LordKuato: Guides-to-Truth, Jacky Gecko, Lamurun
FenrisLorsrai: Harmon Truefriend, Runs-to-the-Sunset, True Silverheels
The Uktenas are in a bad mood, they've had way too much of the Children of Gaia this week already. Jacky prepares for battle by grabbing a 9mm Semi Auto Pistol, fully loaded and ready for action. True Silverheels unsheathes his Klaive. The hippie dog Runs-to-the-Sunset bring his hippie pet, a Wolf Kinfolk. Already the CoGs are trying to get an unfair advantage.
Lamurun grabs the Fang Necklace of Fenris, shifts to Crinos form and tosses it over to Guides who shapeshifts as well. The CoGs gain another ally in the form of a Kinfolk Smalltown Cop. Furthermore, Harmon gains the Gift to Resist Pain
Being the devious bugger that he is, the Cop frames Jacky at the start of the Combat Phase and takes him to jail. This does not please his packmates. Lamurun goes out looking for revenge, he summons the Bull totem. Harmon sings the Chant of Morpheus, hypnotizing my alpha. He then challenges Guides who peeks into the future with his special ability. Guides does not like what he sees and refuses.
The turn ends uneventfully.
The Gibbous Moon rises over the Hunting Grounds.
Trying to even out the playing field, the Uktenas call to a Dreamspeaker Mage for help. Jacky lends her his weapon to give her a little firepower. He knows full well the Kinfolk Cop is not over harassing him yet.
Reports come in of a Vagabond Skindancer in the area. During the Moot Phase, the CoGs call for a Crusade versus all Skindancers. All agree to put aside their differences until the threat is taken care of.
The CoGs are treacherous, though, and the Kinfol Cop again gets Jacky in trouble with the law.
Harmon Truefriend calls for Luna's Armor as he stands across from Lamurun. Lamurun, being the honorable Garou that he is, sticks to the truce and, finding the Skindancer, attacks it. The Skindancer plays a Spirit of the Fray which quickly dissipates thanks to the Uktena's Mage. The Uktena pack Bum Rushes the Skindancer who falls to a Head or Gut? but not before taking the life of the Mage.
More treachery from the CoGs, seeing Lamurun badly hurt from his battle with the Skindancer, Harmon attacks. He pays for it by taking a Mangle, but Lamurun has been weakened too much to put up a good fight. Lamurun falls.
Guides is now alone with Jacky. The CoGs are just getting stroner with the Caern of the Western Eye and a Kinfolk folk Singer. All Guides can do is protect himself with a Memory Ribbon.
Another Vagabond Skindancer is seen in the area.
As was expected, Jacky has not yet been able to escape his legal difficulties. Guides, now alone, bravely steps up as alpha. Harmon does as well and sings Morpheus Chant. Guides Removes Gaia's Blessing from the traitor.
Harmon Sneak Attacks the Skindancer. The fiend is dead. Guides bursts through the woods and charges Harmon. He fights valiantly and takes down his target.
More Kinfolk Cops appear to harass the Gecko. Also a Kinfolk Packleader. Amidst all this, Guides stands defiant and claims Dark Moon's Femur.
Jacky peers helplessly through the bars of his jail cell as his packmate faces immense odds. Guides summons the Bull. A Wolf Kinfolk leads the CoGs attack. Guides goes after it. The CoGs play trickery with Mother's Touch and cause Guides more pain than he ought to have received, but he slays the Wolf.
The CoG army grows. Two Kinfolk Packleaders join them. In addition, Runs-to-the-Sunset got a Klaive, himself. The CoGs then play Calling a Champion on Jacky Gecko. In the meantime, Jacky Shapeshifts, he's ready to be alpha and burts out of jail.
Jacky is ready to be alpha and faces off against his nemesis, the same Kinfolk Cop that had been framing him. He appears to be from the K-9 unit, though as he brings three Kinfolk Packleaders with him. Grossly outnumbered, Jacky falls back. They won't let him escape though and track him down to attack. Jacky is taken down by the pack of dogs.
Fenris draws a Sneak Attack and True wants a piece of Guides before he can regenerate. Guides Dominates him, swatting the little CoG away.
The Unicorn comes to assis the CoGs
The Hunting Grounds is a popular spot for Wyrm spawn as two Black Spiral Dancers comes looking for some action. Time for Guides to bring out the big guns, literally, he has a Heavy Machine Gun.
Runs-to-the-Sunset takes his turn as alpha. He is unworthy of Guides' attention. He goes after the Black Spiral Dancer with Spirit of the Fray. Guides cancels it with Remove Gaia's Blessing. He dies an honorable death while killing the Dancer.
Runs attacks the second BSD. At one point during the combat, he gets hit with a Head Wound. I could have ended the game right there and opted not to play. I'm as honorable as my Uktenas, though, and did not take the cheap win. I carried on, allowing Runs to seal the win at my own expense.
That was a good game. The Kinfolk were getting crazy powerful by that point due to Backwoods Kinfolk Hideaway. The obvious threat in that deck is the Garou. Once the teeny weenie Kinfolk start having 5 and 6 health though...
Hehe, the Children of Gaia are not threats!
