As someone who only owns the base game, how do each of these rank?

Mainly looking for ones that make it more challenging and fun.

It is, but only at 30% off. Are you looking at the Kickstarter Edition?

I own only the base game but have played with some of the homemade expansions and did a lot of research on the official ones. Best I can figure, 2nd Story gets you the most complete experience so that's the one I just ordered. Keep in mind, all I've done is read a whole bunch of reviews over the last few months and haven't actually played any of these.

If you really wanted to, the Veteran/Dog pack powers can just be printed out if you wanted to try their powers. The expansion is just the power cards and figures.

I think Urban Structures probably provides one of the most challenging boards with the high rise board.

Second Story introduces some more aspects of fire fighting that my son and I enjoy (ladders and windows).

We've never had any use for the rescue dog...we have him, but my son tried him once and we've never used him since...he's too limited for use with 2 players. Likewise the veteran.

Dangerous Waters and Honor & Duty add some more boards, but we don't go back to them very much. The only board from those two expansions that we enjoy trying from time to time is the submarine board since it's a bit different from everything else. The other maps are fine...we just don't enjoy them as much as actual buildings.

The non-Kickstarter edition is currently $27.95. The 30% you're talking about is the normal discount off MSRP. Right around $27-28 is pretty much the normal price for this expansion. Kevin was hoping for a sale beyond the normal discount (as was I).

Ah, I gotcha.

I ended up going for the Kickstarter version, as it was 40. It includes all of the promos from the kickstarter.

Nice, I'm sitting here with all the expansions minus Extreme Danger in my cart, trying to think of a reason not to do it.

Looks like you can probably get them in conjunction with the "$50 in gift cards ---> free $10" promotion?

Dangerous Waters has 2 killer maps that add several unique rules. Honor and Duty is the same (but I haven't played it so I can't say the quality). Urban Structures adds a new firefighter class, which is sort of worth it just for that, but the maps have a poor reputation. The rescue dog is awesome and very unique; I haven't been able to play him successfully yet, but he has great potential as a rescue specialist.

I have all the expansions. Urban Structures is probably my favorite, but that's mostly because I find the ladders a touch annoying. We've played Dangerous Waters a lot because it is quite the challenge for us. I like the subway map for Honor and Duty, but the plan makes me a little crazy. (Maybe I'll try it 4p sometime soon.) And I really should give Second Story more of a look (we've only played it 3 times). A lot of people like it though. It just might be less interesting to us since we had gotten Extreme Danger before Second Story.

Also, I love the dog. He's of limited use, but he's come in very handy in a few situations. (And really messed us up in a few others). But I can't help it. I still like him. The veteran can also be interesting in certain situations. However, I would get that expansion only if you are a diehard Flash Point person.
