I just purchased a copy of the game for a friend from JC Penny and upon comparing the back of the box with my older copy I noticed that the back cover art has changed. The expansion teams are now mentioned and pictured and the copyright date says 2005-2006 instead of just 2005.
Since I can't open the new one I just bought I was wondering if any changes were made to the components (i.e. cards, field, pegs...) on the inside.
Thanks for noticing the updated box. On the box, we now mention our special annual event for the big game (going on right now, actually).
We continue to put more stuff in the box. We released our very first Pizza Box Football games in May 2005. Since then, here's what's been added to Pizza Box Football games:
- Expansion Game Preview Card (so you can try it out first)
- Additional Instructions with Examples
- An insert promoting our Predict The Winner Event and a book I like called Pro Football Prospectus
- Minor clarifications / typo fixes in rule book and on cards
The cards are still laminated, but I believe the stock is a little lighter (2 points?) than our original printing.
I want to post the Additional Instructions with Examples from our 2nd printing as a PDF here, but I have to get the file from the graphic designer.
Another tidbit of info, half of the games that say "Made in China" on them were actually made in the US. That was a typo we missed. Want to know how to tell the difference? The ones made in the US have nothing printed on the back of the "One Sheet Instructions" (they're twice as wide).
Also, the pegs and peg holes on the boards made in China are just the slightest bit larger in diameter than the pegs and peg holes on the boards made in the US.
That may be more than you wanted to know. Thanks for asking!
All the best,
