So what is everyone playing??? Is there a gaming tradition you have in your family?

My mother in-law asked me yesterday to bring some games and out of what I have this is what I am bringing (maybe):

The Resistance

Betrayal at House on the Hill- This might make the list...I played it for the first time two weeks ago and really want to play it again.

Dominion with Prosperity and Adventures

Smash Up with Monster Smash

Ticket to Ride

Sheriff of Nottingham

Love Letter

Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game

and probably Zombicide Season 2: Prison Outbreak

When I make a list it does seem like a lot but I wanted some variety!

I'll be doing the in-laws thing from Thursday through Saturday. Extended time with a group of non-gamers, including a number of kids aged 4-7. So it definitely limits the options for gaming.

I haven't narrowed down my list, but so far it includes:

1. Cockroach Poker
2. Bohnanza
3. Geek Out
4. Coup
5. King of Tokyo
6. Red Dragon Inn
7. Castle Panic
8. Pit
9. Resistance: Avalon
10. Smash Up
11. Splendor
12. Any Fluxx game
13. Terra Mystica (Just kidding to see how many people make it to the bottom of the list).

Probably also a solo game or two to entertain myself when I need to some quiet time.

I think Terra Mystica will be a bit much.

We won't have a lot of time to play given our little one (about to turn six months old), but my brother is foaming at the mouth to play Twilight Struggle with me. I'm also planning on bringing Queen's Architect and Roll for the Galaxy to play with everyone. My cousins usually bring a ton of games, too, like the whole expansion lot for 7 Wonders and Power Grid. I'll definitely make sure to bring Bohnanza, too, as it's my favorite above-the-table group game!

I have some younger cousins that will be there, so there will be a handful of weird things, but simple is not always bad.

Ideas I have (haven't bagged them to bring down yet):

1. Codenames (already at my mom's house, yay!)
2. Dixit
3. Forbidden Island (I know the kids have played Desert, so this will be fun)
4. No Thanks! (My Dad's birthday present he wanted)
5. For Sale!
6. Sheriff of Nottingham (good idea on this post)
7. Can't Stop
8. Pit

I probably shouldn't bring anything more than that... But here is other stuff I may want to bring:

Flash Point Fire Rescue
Downfall of Pompeii
Survive Escape from Atlantis
Formula D
Hanabi

I'll likely be playing Aggravation and Jenga with my nieces. Beyond that, I may consider taking along with The Powerpuff Girls: Saving the World Before Bedtime. We shall see.

If I wasn't dragging my feet on Flashpoint and Survive those would have made the list!

Mice and Mystics is still on my short list to purchase. I really want it!

+1 for the dexterity game...I think that is staple at all Thankgivings!!

I married a Texan, but we live in Canada. We do American Thanksgiving every year, this year was a couple of weeks early, but we always go to a friends house for game day and turkey. It is more enjoyable than our Canadian Thanksgiving too...

On the list was:
Code names (meh not bad)
Ra (I love Ra)
Cities
Castles of Mad King Ludwig
King of Tokyo
And I forget the rest.

Only three of us over the Thanksgiving weekend but a few days off and a sizeable stack of games to attack -

Isle of Skye: From Chieftain to King(haven't played this yet and looking forward to it)
Zombies!!!(House-ruled out of recognition, we've had some good fun with this)
Carcassonne(We tend to play Carcassonne (base game with obligatory Inns & Cathedrals / Traders & Builders) in the mornings while everyone is warming up - some Hunters & Gatherers and South Seas if we're feeling especially misanthropic or sociable.

No doubt Pandemic & On The Brink will make an appearance and, if I'm very lucky, I might get everyone to play some rounds The Castles of Burgundy.

Frankly, the turkey (or goose in our case) has become rather secondary at this point.

I am going to try to rope a few people together to play my shiny new Blood Rage, but I will probably have to settle for Dominion (which will be fine). I might be able to convince my parents to try Burgle Bros, which would be a good time.
I only recently discovered the wonders that are modern board games, and I supported too many Kickstarters earlier this year. Now all of them are coming in at once, and I don't have enough time to play them all.

My mother-in-law, brother- and sister-in-law are coming over and we're going to keep it simple: Ticket to Ride+1910 Mega, Jamaica, and maybe, just maybe, Dungeon Petz (my mother-in-law played part of a game once and was intrigued!).

The expansion will come later in the form of an increased waist size.

Since I'm flying, all I'm packing are:

Coloretto
Love Letter
Codenames (in a ziplock bag)

However, my sister-in-law does have Power Grid, so I'm hoping that gets played.

Trying out Tokaido with the in-laws. I'm very taken with the graphical design, tempted to play a few games beforehand.
