Here we go again - your constant feedback and great help already managed to shape Mishmash: Galaxy into a better looking game, but there are still two more graphical assets in need of doing - back of the cards and ownership tokens.

So once more I'd ask for a lil' bit of your time to cast a vote and file in your input on these designs - which you prefer more, top or bottom, and why?

As for the tokens - these are Ownership Tokens, which fulfill a very simple role in the game. They are the colour designators of players. After a player play a card they have to put one of their tokens on top of it to indicate that it is their card for future turns.

If you want to know more about the game itself, ask away or just go here:

The top ones give more of a resource vibe.
Bottom ones look more like company logos.

I prefer bottom.

The bottom ones look way better for the purpose of indicating a player/corporation.
Nice design!

Hello once again!

We are entering a crucial phase of game development - with amazing team of artists, including great Tomek Larek and Greg Bobrowski we began our work on artwork for the Mishmash: Galaxy!

And we need your help - which of the four art styles you like the most and you believe will fit the game better?

Given the references to popular IPs, I think the style will work best to support those references with either a classic(1) or retro(4) style.

Mishmash of all 4!

Some elements just are better suited for certain styles than others. Why not let the element decide the style rather than forcing everything to look one way?

I like retro look but I feel your card design layouts and icons
wouldn't match.
So assuming you don't want to change that I would rank the other 3

1st Abstract
2nd Classic
3rd Organic

They all look so good, but if I had to choose one for myself, it would probably be the either the Classic or the Retro designs. Maybe a mixture of all 4.

I'm a huge fan of the Retro Sci-Fi look, but for this project I would rank them in this order.

1. Classic
2. Abstract
3. Retro
4. Organic

In my Sci-Fi-Fan opinion, Classic Sci-Fi would fit best with all the other designs that you have shown us.

I don't think the theme of this game is enough to support a retro or organic look. I would choose Classic or Abstract!

Thank you all for your votes! We counted them from all the placed we asked for your invaluable feedback, and the outcome is triumph of both Abstract and Retro looks. Which is great message for us, since we quietly hoped for Retro to emerge victorious, since we believe firmly it fits the game theme and idea!

In fact to such a degree, that we are ready to completely rehaul the cards and token layouts to fit the retro artwork, that is, if it will turn out the way we hope

well if you are going retro
you could add references from
Calvin and Hobbes comic strip.
Specifically his Spaceman Spiff character.

actually here is a spaceman spiff search engine

Ye Gods, I love Calvin and Hobbes. Own almost every tome of their adventures at my humble abode And yes, Spacemen Spiff backgrounds and approach to technology was exactly the kind of pulp'ish retro Sci-Fi we would like to deliver.

We expect to see first proto-artwork today or this week! Be sure that we will post it as soon as we will get it

At last we can show you our very own artwork for the Mishmash: Galaxy, done by the endlessly talented Greg Bobrowski! An illustration for the FTL Engine technology card in the sweet '50s retro Sci-Fi Vibe.

This is our first artwork in that style and so we just must know... How do you like it?

This is great! The colors don't scream retro to me because they aren't too bright. This is a plus to me.

Hello again!

As promised, we want to show you now how the artwork and it's colorful retro style fits in our card design. Here you can see it in it's art box and covering the entire back of the card. Since technology cards are not hidden or secret we decided to use the full artwork for the card back to really enjoy it Emotikon wink

What do you think? Is the layout fitting or should it be changed to work with the retro art style?

Absolutely. Just yesterday we finished putting proper abilities on cards. Now we need a week or two to correct the grammar, proofread the wording and ensure everything is spotless. Then we will update Tabletopia to the newest, freshest version
