BGG.CON! BGG.CON SPRING! BGG@SEA!

See these folks?

They are the reason 2800+ attendees and exhibitors were able to experience The Five Best Days in Gaming last week. They are the tireless volunteers who sacrificed hour after hour, day in and day out, to:

-inventory the 5000+ games in the library, including adding all the new releases
-load the trucks with all the bins, pallets, and shelves we use, drive through DFW traffic (multiple times), and unload everything at the hotel
-open the pallets, haul hundreds of cases of games and supplies, and get everything to it's final home (for the con and all the vendors, in a manner of hours)...and then pack it all up again when you were most likely already home and resting
-guide you through registration
-stock the shelves (over and over again) with your free games
-clean the empty Coke cans and Cheeto bags off the tables when the last group forgot to throw them away
-make sure the cameras, GeekBuzz, Artemis, and library software was always up and running
-teach you the hot games (and Artemis)
-set up for, and clean up after, every special event
-put away your library games, straighten the shelves after hours, and prepare the library for opening at 8am each day
-open up the exhibit halls at 8am for vendors, provide security for them, and open them up to the public at 10am
-shut down the exhibitor halls each day at 6pm
-collect donations for the grand prize giveaways on Saturday night, group them into manageable (and AMAZING) bundles, and deliver them to the winners
-set up the dexterity games and hot games, and re-set them up every night/morning
-notify the hotel staff when a room was to be locked down, opened up, cooled off, or (cough) "needed attention"
-helped you find the right game to play, for six eurogamers, without auctions, in 45 minutes or less (before you left for Hard 8), and most definitely NOT with a medieval trading theme
-welcomed you with a smiling face, no matter how early in the morning it was, what mess they just had to deal with, or how tired they may have been
-and all around just made sure that every attendee had an opportunity to have the best convention experience possible.

THEY are the lifeblood of BGG.CON. They are Team Geek.

I can't thank them enough for all they do. The next time you're at one of our conventions, please take a minute and let them know you appreciate their efforts. BGG.CON (and BGG.CON Spring, and BGG@SEA) simply wouldn't exist without them.

Thanks to everyone on Team Geek for producing a first-rate event! BGG.con is just as much a celebration of great people as it is of great games. Looking forward to BGG.con 2016!

I was not there, but I always greatly appreciate volunteers for any convention for without them there couldn't be these wonderfully fun events.

Thanks, Team Geek, for all that you do to make BGG Con the best gaming convention in the business. Three years ago you made me feel welcome and I've been coming to the con each November since. Thank you for paying such attention to the attendee experience!

I have never attended BGG.CON (I have never even been to the States! (yet)), but I met them at Essen and they are absolutely brilliant.

Just looking at this picture makes me want to set up my Christmas resolutions to attend BGG.CON at the earliest possible opportunity.

I would also encourage people to become patrons of BGG and contribute to maintain this site (I think soon we will see the End of the Year Drive).

Big thanks from the UK!

Thanks to Team Geek.

Special thanks to Julia (spelling?) for all the work in the library. I volunteered this time at the con and will do so again next year. At least my OCD shelf straitening trait is appreciated somewhere.

Hail Team Geek.

I think I recognize several of these folks from their pictures in my post office.

Or maybe it is the FBI's Most Wanted list?

I tried to hit the thumbs up button about 1,000 times, but it kept toggling.

I thanked quite a few of the Team Geek members during the Con. My apologies to those I missed.

Another job well done. I'm a 3rd timer & this was my best BGG to date.

All hail Team Geek.

But seriously big thanks to everyone who makes this site better every day.

Plus the expansion: Name the folks missing from the picture, because there's even more Team Geek than that!

I had amazing time at this year's show. I go to lots of shows, because it's my job, and BGG.con is reliably one of my two favorites. It feels like I'm among family. Many hearty kudos to you.
