Folks,
I am looking to see if there was any game modulars created for British Commando units and battles in Squad Leader or Advanced Squad Leader.

I am trying to run a multi-game campaign style of play set in the Aegean and Channel Islands.

If the answer is "no" - what could I substitute for units?

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with any myself, but Steven Swann wrote a few articles for the General about specialized units. He covered the British paratrooper in Vol 26 #5, in an article titled Red Devils.
That might be useful.
You can find that here;

Hi,

'A Commando Campaign Game' by Rex Martin was published in ASL Annual 1992. It dealt with force management over thirteen scenarios of Commando type missions. Might be worth looking at even if it was for G.I.: Anvil of Victory.

Pre-ASL doesn't have a module or specific scenario pack, maybe a dozen scenarios from various publication on Commando actions at most.

good luck,

Scott

There is an ASL Historical module called St Nazaire: Operation Chariot, which covers the 1942 British commando raid on the port facilities of St Nazaire. It has ASL rules for motor gun boats and includes additional scenarios set in the Pacific and Aegean.
