Those rules are actually in this game. Here they are:

Variant: Using ascending and descending card values to move The players can agree before the game to play with the following version:

* In addition to moving by playing cards that are equal or higher in value than the previous card, players may choose to do the opposite: play cards that are equal or lower in value than the previous card.

*As soon as a player plays a card for a path that is different from the first card played, he determines whether subsequent cards for this path will be higher or lower. A player can choose differently for each path, but once he decides for a path, he must play cards on that path according to this decision.


Note that right before these rules are the rules for the short game as well:
