Hi, the scale is... single tanks & vehicles, squads (10 soldiers) and teams (5 soldiers)... you can tailor the battles from platoon to company / half-company oh yes it will be available in english.

It will be a modular system, so you can decide the complexity of rules, duration (1- x hours), and kind of battles...

We trimmed that system to a interesting compromise between realistic feeling, easy way to learn and speed. You can tailor the complexity via modular rules.

One thing that makes the rules unique is our very easy option for the fog of war. An other thing is the easy way to resolve firing & damage. And a third innovative thing is the moral system.... and so on.

Always interested in any new WW2 game. Can't wait to see our finished product. What makes this different from ASL or SL?

I found it very interesting that the image of a female soldier appears in the video at the exact moment that morale is first mentioned.

You'll have to compete with the Band of Brothers and Conflict of Heroes squad-level games.

What the world needs, IMO is a simple tactical (or grand-tactical) game with company or maybe battalion units. Corps Command: Dawn's Early Light (modern period) is pretty close.

No, we are not competing, we tried to get up a simple tactical system.
We are opportunity players with less time in the evenings. But we are enthusiasts regarding real battel feeling and historic things.

Thats why we have built modular rules. First we planned to put up only small firefights with single soldiers and vehicles. This plan was dropped because of long long playing time and to complex rules. And we know a bit about ASL

Now, you can define and tailor the size of the battle via formation cards. On this for e.g. a German rifle platoon has now 4 Rifle squads and one support weapon team. If you want to play a bigger battle you can draw more cards for more formations.

We are planning to establish a kind of blog on our domain. Could be that we are posting small vid´s from time to time to draw a picture about our system and the rules... but there is a bit work in front...

We are thinkinkg about two ways for realisation: take a look for an publisher or a kickstarter campaign.

Just a suggestion but you might get more / better feedback from the wargaming forum.

As a personal suggestion though, it seem that there is already a lot of game depicting small scale warfare in WW2. You may be able to distinguish yourself by either : offering a novel approach to something (i.e simultaneous movement/combat, new way to resolve firing or morale etc...) or maybe by offering something different in locale or taste(i.e : russo-finnish war, romanian or yugoslavs partisan action, or even particular units like the Romanian SS units or something completly assymetrical like volks grenadier vs experienced russian units in late war) just something to consider if you plan on hitting the various publishers or KS.

It might also be beneficial to Survey the games that already cover the genre (combat commander ,SL,ASL, COH or the free PnP Valor and victory), see what it is they DON'T do well and incorporate that.

good luck on your endeavour

Thanks for the suggestion. Oh, yes its good to get some ideas. I think we have done a survey of some tactical games. For me personally it was important to reduce nasty "marker work" and Counter towers. This speed up the game flow.

In general the system is very modular. We have enough concrete ideas how to advance it.

For e.g. we are intending to realize a campaign module. This will give you the possibility to plan and proceed your strategic goals with different task forces (like Kampfgruppen). In the strategic level you can decide resolving the battles with strategic values (very fast approach) or to play out the single battles on the tactical level. But for that we will have to finish our core system first. meeple

What is the map scale?
Is the game card driven? If not? Any mechanics to simulate the difference in command system between the German & Russian troops?
It seems there are very few information on the counters. Does it mean players need to check separate cards for unit stats like in Panzer series?

The map scale is somewhere between 50 - 100 metres. No, it is not card driven. You have different markers for your orders. This are orders like: movement, fast movement, firing, move + fire.

At this stage we are simulating the differences in command systems for example with different moral values.

It is planned for an expansion that simulates different character kinds of company leader types. For example you will choose a company leader with different attributes depending on kind of troops. If you will play with an infantry leader you will have some bonuses regarding fighting against infantry units and so on. But this will be a later on addon.

Regarding the information on the counters. Yes, there are a only a few informations. You have a separate info card for each unit type.

Please hold in mind. We will provide a modular rule set. There you will be able to define your own depth of rules. If you have a lot of time and you want to go more into realistic feeling you will be able to. If you want to play a fast battle you can use the core rules only.

If you are interestet just follow our blog on fatherland-games.com. We have planned to release detail info month per month.
