But, as far as anyone else can tell, no one died here. There were no casualties. The water did not turn red. It was not known as the River of Blood. The signage was installed by the golf course, not any officially recognized historical (National Trust for Historic Preservation, National Register of Historic Places) or governmental body.
The plaque itself, though, appears to be real. It is a plaque.

At the Trump National Golf Club, in Sterling, Virginia, not far from D.C., the New York Times reports that there is a plaque on a stone pedestal right after the 14th hole. The course, renovated and re-opened this year, is on the Potomac River, and the plaque, according to the Times, reads:

“Many great American soldiers, both of the North and South, died at this spot. The casualties were so great that the water would turn red and thus became known as 'The River of Blood.'"

what a great place to play some golf

Some "supposed"-person host at Faux-News will probably recall 'likewise' upon this matter or another even, and that's: Faux`d Up News too whistle

At times I think he has just been too damn rich his whole life... lived to do every possible thing he's ever wanted because of his wealth... and now is bored.

So he's having fun by running for president and seeing just how extreme he can get.

Unfortunately - he's riling up some very racist and dangerous people.

This has sod all to do with his campaign (hence why I say it's just as Damn childish). Bit I think you may have a point about growing up as a spoiled rich kid, being given his first business. He simply put has no concept of the real world or real people. If he believes something it is true to a degree that I think even the most fanatical fundamentalist could not archive.

So I suppose that whilst the plaque has sod all to do with his candidacy, his utter narcissism and lack of experience of the real world may well be sever handicaps for high office.

Donald Trump claims to have been "born of a virgin".

I wonder what is the golf course's proximity to Ball's Bluff? A rather bloody and one-sided affair, but a lot of American soldiers lost their lives trying to get back across the river while not getting shot by rebels.

I live (maybe) 6 miles from an old RAF aerodrome, that does not mean my house shot down a Dornier.

Doesn't mean it didn't shoot down a Dornier either.

Well, other than the lack of barrel or firing mechanism.

Yes, but that would still not be shooting it down.

River of Blood?

I don't know anything about golf, but does that make it a Par 5?
