I do not possess nor intend to buy the Corvette so the "classic" falcon builds are not open to me. However I wished to try and fly a competitive Falcon and looking at what I do have I tried this:

Chewbacca - 42
Falcon Title - 1
Recon Specialist - 3
Jan Ors - 2
Push the Limit - 3
Engine Upgrade - 4

This lets Chewie get 3 evades a turn or 1 or 2 and a boost. I tried the build with Lando and Experimental Interface and got lucky and got a bunch of Evades but then I saw the Jan Ors / Recon combo. Its guaranteed but you sack the Mod for an Elite.

Comments? (other than buying 390 and r2)

I don't think Jan Ors + Rec Spec gets you two evade tokens. I don't have the FAQ to hand though.

I looked at the FAQ and a ship with her and recon spec can take a focus and an evade token. So the Lando build MIGHT still get more evade.

Jan Ors activates once per round, so I don't think you could use her with Recon Specialist to get two Evade tokens.

And Lando's crew ability is an action, so you wouldn't be able to take a Focus action to trigger Jan. You'd have to roll with Lando's ability and hope the results shake out in your favor.

Have you thought about (or do you have access to) the Kyle Katarn crew card? He gives you a Focus token whenever you remove a Stress token. That could use Jan's ability to become an Evade, and you'd still have your action free to take another Evade or a Focus.

My original build used the title, Kyle, Lando, and Experimental Interface.

I think one of the organized play kits for 2016 (can't remember which one) includes C-3PO promo cards. So, you might be able to get one just for playing in a tournament!

Engine Upgrade on a Falcon is probably worth more than an evade, as you will usually be able to dodge 1 or 2 arcs with it. The best defense is not an evade token, it is not getting shot. Engine + PTL + Kyle + Title can get you a Focus, Evade, and Boost each turn. This is a 53 point build so it fits well with Corran.

One of my favorite builds with Chewie is Expose + Experimental Interface + Kyle. You can get repeated 5-dice attacks with TL+F. This is all offense and no defense.

The beefiest Chewie I ever faced had PTL, Title, Kyle, Threepio. He routinely got three evades by guessing 0 with Threepio, rolling an eye, and then spending his focus and evade. I couldn't break through.

My meta revolves around a lot of turrets and at least one person who insists on running double decimaters so arc dodging isnt make or break. I like the offense built you mentioned but at that point why am I flying Chewbacca?

I have a feeling the 2X Decimator guy will be less likely to bring that list once the new MOV rules with big ships start getting used in tournaments.

Who hasn't been using the correct tournament rules for tournaments? That change happened months ago, didn't it?

Quite right. I ran this version of Chewie for two escalation events and a stand alone tourney. Ten Numb with VI, Advanced Sensors, Veteran Instincts and the B-Wing/E2 mod plus tactician makes for a good running mate.

And yes you are correct focus triggers recon spec to produce two focus, and Jan Ors then converts one to an evade. You then can choose between boosting or using Mil Falcon title for second evade. It's a lot of flexibility but is still very challenged by the 4x TLT/Y-Wing build.

That's an interesting take that I hadn't considered with the crew.

I ran a similar build but had Kyle instead of the Rec. Spec. Kyle clears stress for a focus, focus for action that Jan turns to evade, PTL evade or boost depending on who has shots on the Falcon. Next turn Kyle clears stress for a focus... etc.

I played a guy with a hangover at a tourney and the double evades were pissing him off so much that I'm pretty sure he came close to punching me...
